i put a 5" magnaflow system on my truck yesterday and its perfect!


idle you cant hear and rolling down the street and getting on it you can barely hear it and and its look as if my gas mileage went up around 1.5

kit also installed very very easy

just sucked trying to take the stock off and install th new all bymself i think the stock exhaust wieghed more than i do

 

Glad you like it. Wish I went with 5". Guess I could always go that way in the future. Are you setting off any car alarms?

 

its deff way to quiet to do that ..

my fiance has a z28 and when she drives next to me i hear her car not mine..not sure if that kinda gives you an indea she has slp loudmouth exhaust...i honestly still just hear my trucks whistle and it seems like it whistles louder and when the truck shifts to over drive and you turn the radio off you still dont really hear it i mean its there but not loud at all its nice

 

Sometimes quiet is good. I'm sure my neighbors wish mine was quieter.
I had SLP's exhaust on my Z28 a few years back. Now that sounded very, very healthy. Sounds like your fiance is a keeper...

 

Where did you purchase the exhaust kit? Do you use the cat? How much was the kit? Do you have that annoying drone at cruising speeds?

I want a 5" for my 2004.5 but afraid of the drone!!!!!!!!!!!!1

 

i didnt notice any highway drone the only thing annoying is that when it idles itl vibrate the trk so i took my programmer raised the rpms 100 and its gone and thats it

truck isnt loud at all on the inside now when she left my house in my truck this morning i could hear her gettin on it


also there is no cat its turboback has a lil muffler on it..and i got it at diesel innovations here in houston...

 

Do you ever tow? I really want to go 5" and MBRP told me there's is LOUD. I wondered if the Magnaflow is quieter. My fear also is of the drone at highway speeds. I guess I'm wondering how much louder it will be pulling a load at 75mph. Anyone done this yet?

 

i dont tow so i dunno im sure itl get louder but its the quietest system avail is what the place i bought it from said they have installed so many differt types so i dont see why the woulda bsed me they could sold me the mbrp for more money

well what do you guys think is better? Dual 4" or a single 5"?? I like the way the duals look but is it louder or as effective as a 5" system? Also, how much did your magnaflow system cost you?

 

The dual 4" is only a cat back system. The 5" is from turbo back and will flow much more.
