Inline5 datalink... anyone have one ?
it's the inline link up to the ECM sold by Cummins. If you have one... how is it ? Does it supply a good amount of data ? Does it compare to a Starscan ? It sure cost a lot less then one!

the Cummins Brand tool is called INSITE(run on a laptop) that is what we use at work...it can read any and every thing the cummins engine has ever done...it looks like you could maybe Change some of the ECM stuff but on our software this is all locked out and you cant access it without a code
Thats all I know...witch is not much

I dont know to be honest...I would assume it does..we dont have many CR trucks so I dont get to use it too much and the datalink on the industrial truck is different then ours.
Edit I know there is a adapter to hook it to our trucks...it's $80 just for that....

I was told thats we couldnt hook up to newer dodge trucks, but i really havent looked into it much, if you could connect you could do the injector cut out test, but you could'nt change any of the calibrations with out a code, as far as parameters there isnt really much you can change there, but im going to find out more, and now we have an Inline 5 datalink, but you will still have to buy in insite program to run on the computer.

I have not even checked to see if it works on our newer CAN trucks..last time I checked on the adapter was when I was running my 01CTD..I know for sure it works on those trucks...but the new CAN truck could be totally diffrent??? but on the same note the Cummins ECM witch is what you are looking at with INSITE should be pretty much the same???who knows
I guess I could call the cummins rockymountain and ask them.....

the latest version out is the INLINE5 and does work on a CAN bus. For the kit it's cost $749+tax. That includes the software, INLINE5, and all the cables and accessories.
I'd be nice to be able to change things in the ECM but, I'd be really surprised if you could.
$750 isn't cheap but, just to be able to tune your truck by actually seeing what's going on would be sweet !!

Our trucks don't even have the data port on the ECU like the industrial engines, & the software is different. INSITE won't "talk" to any dodge from 02 on up. Propriatary programing. SUCKS!
