Injector Problem and suggestions for new
Yesterday my truck had a sudden loss of power on the highway. No black smoke and the EGTs dropped to just over 100 deg F. Engine light was on and NADP read it for me (they were just closing). He said the code is electrical failure of injectors, which means they may or may not be toast. He suspected a bank of three are off by how cold the EGTs were.
So if I have to get new injectors, I figure to put bigger ones in since I have a stage 3 Garret twin bb turbo to go in this Jan.
Are some injectors better quality than others? I'm looking for quality. Any suggestions in case I do in fact need new ones?

Someone else will chime in, but isn't the '06's injector wiring integral to the gasket and prone to go bad killing 3 injectors at a time? If so, new gasket time and not bad injectors. Do a search here.

Did they tell you the code #? I'm a betting man it's p2146 or 2149 which is when the banks of 3 short out, either front or back bank. My truck has been doing same thing for long time intermittently seems like bout twice a year or so, had new valve cover gasket/wiring harness put in under warranty from dealer and thought that fixed it but nope, did it again bout month ago to me, thinking surely must be an injector now. Do a search on here and there is a way using an ohm meter that u can test them as far as electrically anyway..

It was a P2146 I'm pretty sure. Probe is on the back three.
I'll let you know what they find. Taking it in tomorrow and I'll mention the ideas you guys gave - but if it is common, this shop will probably know the issue.

Feelin' pretty good. Only one injector was bad. The shop was surprised as me to find out that the cost of a new replacement is $107.00. They double and triple checked the price...sure enough...$107.
Christmas came early for me.

Well it was too good to be true. That $100 injector turned out to be an injector for a gas engine. Mine was just over $400 as expected. Oh well, after a grand total of $850 my truck is back on the road. Glad it wasn't something worse!
