listen to what cquestad is saying
this is the best advice for you small fluxs 62 or even 64 but get a 65 wheel with a 13ss or 14 exhaust housing !
seriously A HTT 64/65/13ss would be the best single turbo, matched up with a set of fluxs 1.5s , head studs , edge EZ , gauges & next time put a set of 285/70/17 tires you will love that setup for towing & everyday driving you can easily get away with a 64 compressor with the 6speed , but you need the 65 wheel !
this is a recipe for success !

Points well taken. Thanks guys. I'm leaning towad the standard Industrial Injection Phat Shaft62. It comes with either a 12 or 14 mm housing and a 65mm wheel and will support up to 550hp. I don't need a rocket or a dyno queen. Just good reliable power with good street manners. Guess I have till tax refund time (I hope) to make my final decision.

The 65 Turbine will be better. I got the 71 turbine and it is somewhat laggy. I got such a good deal on it I couldn't pass it up. Gonna throw a Smarty on it and see how it does after the tranny is built...... The EGT's are excellent though. Boy, this is gonna get expensive. Airdog 100, Smarty, Tranny,

My new turbo showed up Thursday. I settled on a very slightly used HTB2 62/12/65 from one of the members here that was upgrading to twins. Just couldn't pass up the deal. The unit was shipped to High Tech Turbo for a thorough inspection and cleaning before it was shipped here. Doesn't even look like it's been on a truck. Hopefully it runs as good as it looks!!! Thanks again Chad!

Got the new charger on yesterday! First thing I noticed was the low-rpm whine vs. the stocker, especially since this one doesn't have a silencer ring and I gutted the factory intake tract. Second thing I noticed is, you better make sure you tighten all the boost fitting hoses. I rolled into the throttle to see how it cleared-up the smoke on level 3 and blew the hose right off the end of the turbo! Ooops. I haven't leaned on it real hard yet, but my butt-dyno tells me it was money-well-spent, and as an added bonus, the overhead MPH display is already starting to creep up.

Well, I've got around 500 miles on the new turbo so far, and I'm really starting to like the little bugger. The weather finally co-operated a few days ago to where I could max out the Hot Juice and stand on it hard without worrying about hitting wet or icy pavement and the rear end trying to pass the front.
A far as everyday driving is concerned, the turbo seems to spool every bit as fast, if not a little quicker than the stock charger. And though it may just be my imagination, the butt-dyno almost feels like the truck may pull a pinch harder with even stock fueling.
One thing's for sure. This charger handles the extra fueling A LOT better than the stocker ever did, on any power level. Much smoother power delivery and not near so peaky. It also does a pretty respectable job of clearing up the smoke. More of a haze than a black cloud at WOT, of course, it's still easy to fog the mosquitoes (or ricers) by selecting a higher gear with the RPMs around 1200 or so.
I was a little concerned at first about getting the HTB2 with the 12 cm turbine housing VS. the 14 cm housing, but so far, I'm impressed to see how well it controls my EGT's.
During those few decent days of weather, I stood on the truck about as hard as I could without hooking up a trailer and the Attitude monitor never once alerted that I'd hit my pre-set temp level of 1250* (I have it set to de-fuel at 1400*). With the stocker, if I'd start rowing through the gears hard with the Juice/Attitude set on "5", by the time I'd hit 5th gear, I'd be at 1400* and the Attitude would be pulling fuel away. No more!
I still won't be able to tie-on the 5er and hit the hills on level "5", nor did I ever intend to. But right now, I'd say I have enough wiggle room to maybe consider a very far into the future injector upgrade (Flux 1.5's maybe) and still be able to keep things on the cool side. And if it does get a little toasty... well then that would maybe justify that water/methanol injection kit I've been eyeballing now wouldn't it?
