If XZT or Smarty throws a CEL
I was thinking of getting one or the other for mpg increases. What I'm mostly concerned with is if they throw a code, will it show in the truck computer?? The last thing I want, even if I remove it before warranty work, can the dealer tell if I had it on there? Both sound impressive & yes I will, order from DTR.cool:

I would think that the only way they could tell there was a program or an inline chip installed is if they check the freeze frame data for boost psi and fuel psi at the time of the dtc. If you could somehow erase the dtc if you knew it was related to the chip, then take it in, that may work.

Even if they check the freeze frame data with the XZT on it they will not see anything abnormal. That is the beauty of the modules, they stop the ECM from ever seeing anything above normal parameters.
Worst case scenario you forget to plug one of the rail pressure sensors in and the truck throws a CEL. IF you go to the dealer immediately the code will show up. If you plug it in and drive it the light will go out and then a day or two later the code will clear and be gone forever.
With the Smarty you can clear the code manually with the Smarty itself.
The only thing I have seen that I would ask Bob or Marco about is the 0602 error the tuners cause. From what I understand once you set them you cannot remove them. I have no idea what the dealer will say about that code?
