I still think the Unimog portals are the way to go but those Rockwells are awesome if you want pure strength.
How are you going to do the suspension? Leaf springs with custom perches and shackles, custom 4 link, radius arms?

maximum altitude in SA has done a conversion similar to this. THey had a dodge in there but they used large dana axle....... similar but not the same. I am sure they could work it up though, they might have done it since the last time I used them 6 years ago...... they are off I-35 north in Schertz now.....
