it depends on what the use of the truck is. you will need a much larger turbo than stock. maybe an sps66 or a5k. you'll need head studs. you will need more fuel. a lift pump is necessary.
none of this is going to be cheap.
boost pressure will not necessarily get you more power. the goal of a turbo is to increase volume of the intake charge(which is accomplishes by pressurizing the air. a slightly larger than stock turbo will do this much better without busting the bank and requiring a ton of mods.
40psi from the stocker is much less power than 40psi from an aftermarket unit designed to run in that range. has to do with efficiency.

50 psi wouldn't be a good idea until you bump up turbos. The stock turbo effeciency range is 28-40psi. You're basically at your limit. If you want to mod, you might want to look at a lift pump or fass, or a boostcooler injection.

what h/p would you guys think i have right now? ive never had it dyno so i have no clue. i would like to hit 55+ psi and try and get around 500+ hp. i know its gonna cost cash, but i can slowly build toward that

i had some white smoke start coming out the exhaust for a while when i would first start it up, and i asked a mech at work and he said he thought it was getting to much fuel. well hell if you think its gettin that much, i wanna shoot for at least 600+hp

That's how much it may be. But you have to figure in climate change, how hard you are on the truck, and eventually wear. With decent upgrades you should easily get into the 500-600 range. It's all about the tuning. I've seen alot of Fords and Dodges blowing blue/white smoke on startup too. It's pretty common from what i see.

well i hardly drive my truck except back and forth to waco on my days off because during my work week i drive a big rig. either that or the company truck. i just wanna be able to lay down some heavy rubber and have something that will have others lookin. it may take a while to get it up to shape, but it will happen eventually.

That bdtd should already be show-off ready! Now you just gotta take the precautions to keep that program safe to your truck and get the trucks efficiency up.(those mods you can't see)
