DZ04,
You should be able to reach 450 pretty easy. I just dyno'd down in Houston on 10/13/06 on a dynojet and reached 397.5/unk. torque on Smarty ONLY on level 5. That is with stock auto trans and stock turbo.

Another factor to think about is your tires. Does your friend have stock tires on his truck. Those Toyo M/Ts are like 10 ply and very heavy, thus robbing some your power. Maybe the some of the 30 hp you were loosing can be attributed to that.

yeah he is running stockers. i know the diameter is also not helping matters. just kills me to see his mostly stock truck beat me, after I spend $1700 on a turbo. after the clutch replacement, he's mine. even if I have to tow him back to BD and pay the dyno bill for both of us. thanks fellas

I dont think the clutch is losing you hp, A stock clutch will let lose all at once.
Youll know when you do, either its holding or its not
Where a AUTOMATIC will lose power slowly, only a percentage of the engines power will go through the tranny, gradually getting weaker
Id get the ofe if you tow, fe if not towing, Southbends are way underrated,
I think "Gypsyman" has a ofe that holds 642 horse. Just the way you drive, no 3rd gear/2500 rpm launches

You also have to take into consideration that some trucks are just plain "stronger" than others exactly like them. You can dyno ten 2006 2500 CTDs, and not one of them will be the same...you may even see variations in their dynos as great as 20 +/- hp, etc, etc...however, being off by 50 +/- hp would be pretty odd...I will have to go with the crowd here and say that your clutch is holding you back...Derek

you can hear in the video the point where the clutch slips. just when she starts to really build boost in 5th gear. this time next week the ofe will be in and problem solved.

Dodgezilla, I dyno'd my 2004.5 2500 Quad Cab 4x4 6spd NV5600 with BFG 315's on a hot (107 degrees) July day. The only mod's I had to that truck were a Scott's air filter and Quad Race Box. I had stock muffler and cat on. This was on a Dyno Jet dyno. Using the Quad box, my best run netted me 400.3hp and 728.8 lb/ft torque. My clutch did not slip on the dyno. With your mod's you should be well over 389.9hp.

i was thinking the same thing. i should be at 450 now, but the dyno doesnt lie. the torque was ok, hp was low.
the clutch should be here today, i'll get it in soon.
