I need gauges, is Edge CTS the way to go?
I just got the truck in my sig, the 03. Going to start the mods soon. I want gauges and a programmer. Will Edge CTS be enough for gauges, ive heard mixed reviews and sever different versions of what it will measure. At a minimum, i need Boost, EGT, and Fuel Pressure from LP. A rail pressure gauge would be nice, but not necessary. Will the CTS do those things for me? or should I go with regular mechanical gauges?
Sould i get the programming with it or go with Smarty?
Thanks

There are alot of post on this. Alot of folks like the analog because they are easier to read at a glance. I believe this to be true.
I recently added a smarty pod6 with a quadzilla scout 11 montior. It is awsome!!!!!! It is the ONLY one that works with smarty. It is way less $$$$$ then a edge. You can get both for less. The Quadzilla is nothing fancy. No color, pics, etccc. But it is a great monitor. I really like watching my gears change (1-4 auto) and it shows when the torque convert is lock or not and if there is any slip occuring. I glance over at the egts and they are instant. They show to the 10ths. I like that it will show spikes the instant you throtle up, and i mean the very second, no analog delay. Set it up with one wire or take down in less then a minute.
Again Quadzilla is set up for smarty POD

That scout II looks good, but i have an 03, and they dont list one for my truck.
Im still thinking regular gauges and smarty.
EGT, Boost, FP.
Any think else?

I'm all for analog. I have only had an edge for a digital gauge, I was not a fan. Not saying there isn't a good digital gauge set out there...
Those three are your top ones. I would look into a tranny temp gauge if you tow heavy, and a rail pressure gauge if you really start getting into performance.

Winner winner chicken dinner!
I'm on the other side of the fence I like a digital gauge set up. I HATE the pillar gauges, JMO. I like the simplicity of the electronic screen, but at the same time you will need a real boost gauge if you go with a real turbo, or two for twins but most everything else can be done electronically. I like my CTS better than my outlook, but both have more accurate rail pressure but less accurate boost.

I like the digital set up as well, as it will log/save the highest settings(not all ), that way you can drive and not eyeball a gauge all the time, also you can set them to warn you when you hit your max presets, beauty of this for me is I can drive/tow or what ever and NOT have to keep an eye on the gauges, in my case edge backs down fuel when temps/egts/boost etc get out of range.

So The CTS on a 2005 will read rail pressure?
Without any extra plug ins? Will it work with a smarty? What if I wanted lift pump pressure?
Sorry didnt mean to Hi jack this thread. I am wanting to add pressure gauge myself

Lift pump not without an added sensor, I don't know if they are available yet.
