I know its another tire question, but...
I'm really frustrating myself over getting new tires. I have the Nitto Terras and may get 45,000miles out of them, but they are noisy when they get to the last 15,000, so I don't want to go with them again. I can not find load ranges on the Cooper zeon ltz for the life out of me, so I guess those are out. I can find Toyo open countrys in a 285/50r 20, but not too many stores have them.
Which leads me to this: Nitto dune Grapplers.
I found them in a 285/50 and 500BA rating, but how are ppl liking them? They are a little pricier, are they worth it? Are they quiet? Can I expect maybe a little more life out of them? Will they handle a little extra weight (no more than 15,000k towing)? I have to get this tire selection right the first time, I can't afford to screw up. Please give me your thoughts. I'm afraid these tires would be worse. HELP!

The three tires you mentioned are all completely different styles so first decide what you want...I had Open Country A/T's ....not impressed at all. Zeon's are street racing tires aren.t they and the dune grapples are S.Cali, sand play tires. You need E's if you tow and D's if you just play but they will wear fast on the heavy front. These trucks aren't half tons. KS

I had good luck with my Terra Grapplers...just put another set on and couldnt be happier....
I rode in a truck with the Dune Grapplers and they were quite a bit louder than the Terras...it was annoying. The owner also said that they didnt wear very good and he only had about 18k on them...

All 3 tires are All Terrains with the same treadwear, the Cooper actually has a 520 range over the nitto and toyos 500 treadwear. i've heard the Toyos are better than the nittos, i just need some honest opinions and opinions from experience.

Did you not like your Terras? My 1st set really impressed me...just over 40k outta them, I was VERY happy with them! Quiet, pretty good off-road, wear very well when rotated every 5K, and look really cool too...
I never got that many miles outta other tires of similiar size/style...and they were on 1/2 ton Chevys

I know several guys who have had Toyos and liked them...dont know any specifics as far as noise levels or how many miles they got outta them though.
I've had REALLY good luck with a couple of different sets of Coopers in the past if you can find anything you like that they offer....I'd recommend them in a heartbeat as well...

I have toyo's but the MT's, friend of mine bought a pair of the AT Toyo's at the same time and he is already having to replace them, not sure about the noise level but he couldn't have more than 30k on them.

I have the summit Mud Dawgs and have had two sets. Only mud ture I was able to get 40,000 miles+ out of. But when they get down to the last 10,000 miles the front starts cupping bad and are noisy, But 40,000 miles out of a mud tire is awesome.

I am on my 2nd set of Cooper S/T's and they are a real all terrain tire...they are mud and snow rated...even have stud holes...apparently they are $120 in texas....I got 100k miles out of my last set and they wore perfectly with 15 to 20 kmile rotations. They are moderately loud for about a week and then they seem to get rid of the nubbies and are relatively quiet...though not as quiet as a BFG. They look nice and aggressive also. ks
