Hummer wheels and tires?

What would I have to do to fit a set or 315/70R17 hummer wheels and tires on a 2007 2500 4x4 and would my stock ram centers fit?

H2 wheels will fit, but you have to bore/machine (4.774") the center of the wheels to fit over the hubs. Any or most machine shops will do it (CNC Machine). You can also do it yourself w/ the right tool. It cost me $20 a wheel. The tires will also fit without a level kit. You can see pics of mine in my pic gallery, but I have a suspension system on.

The center caps can be trimmed down to fit (don't know the specs on that) or double up on lug nuts and no cutting of the caps.

Bore out the centers. I forget the exact measurement, but it's somewhere around 4.75". There are tons of threads on this subject.

You can router the centers of the hubs with a router and a 1/2" flush bearing bit. Did mine myself and saved.

or, if you still have your factory wheels, put the 315s on them. Thats what I did and it is flush with the fender wells and looks great. You will need a leveling kit for the front to stop from rubbing tho

I just called a machine shop in my area and they said they wouldn't do it for liability reasons.

It's not a difficult thing to do if the machinist knows what they're doing. Go to a different machine shop. I've read about the H2 wheels on Dodges for over 3 years, and had mine done 2 years ago. I have not heard of a single incident of wheel failure. Also, most machine shops will require you to have the tires disomunted before they work on the wheels.
Good Luck

Is the leveling kit necessary with a 4X4? It looks like my truck would have enough clearance without leveling it...

315's WILL rub your control arms with your factory wheels but won't with the H2's which have a better off set for those size tires on our trucks.

Excellent. I found a set of H2 rims (5 of them) for $175 - for the set! I am looking to get those and having them machined by a friend of mine. The most expensive part of the deal will be the tires!

They arent hubcentric, if thats what they are worried about....

Really if you are competent with hand/power tools you can do them yourself with a die grinder and a rotary file bit. If you search on here there are some pictures of the lip you need to remove, its not much.

I used a 4 3/4 hole saw with a corded drill, used cutting oil and kept the rpm low. I have done three sets this way. About $40 for the the hole saw. You might have to take a file and clean a few spots depending on your hub. For your center cap get four extra lug nuts per wheel double nut them and they will hold your caps on. The machine shop is a waste of time and money, it is something different and they don't understand so they say they can't do them. Grab a drill and in five minutes you are done. Don't even have to remove the tires.
