HTT turbo and check engine light
I just installed an HTT turbo (62/65/13), and went for a test drive. Everything worked well, but when I got on it, my CEL came on. Is this due to the 40lbs. of boost?
Thanks for your help!!

You may have the overboost code. Don't know. Pull the code using the key on off 3 times and post it or look it up on the DTR WIKI. You may not be doing boost fooling and that is causing the code. I thought an Edge EZ did boost fooling???????

The 06 and newer are a little quirky. On my dad's 06 I have to do it lightening quick or it won't work. Cycle key as quick as you can amd it should flash the code in the odo window or if no codes are present it will say done.
Did you use the resistor in the wastegate harness that used to plug into the stock turbo?

Yes, I used the resistor. I was playing with the Bully Dog, and I cleared the code. I'm sure I'll get it back, and when I do, I'll try and see if I can get the key thing to work. Thanks for all of your help!

I see the EZ in your sig but is it hooked up? I'm pretty sure the EZ does boost fooling. I know the BD does not. The problem I think is your ECU is seeing too high of boost and it's setting a CEL. Usually when that happens your truck will go into limp mode like where Bob was going with it. It will stay there until you "fix" it with a reader or programmer.

No, any piggy back out there should boost fool or you could try the boost fooler from Quadzilla. I will be surprised if the EZ doesn't do any boost fooling. Most/all programmers out there don't boost fool. The signal comes from the MAP sensor off the intake plenum. It goes from there right to the ECU. You need a piggy back module like the Juice or TST to intercept that signal and then the module will reproduce a signal that is considered "safe" to the ECU so it keeps it happy. I'm not sure how the Quadzilla boost fooler works but a few guys have not had luck with them and had to go with an actual fueling module with boost fool to do the job.

I just talked with Edge, and they said that the EZ DOES do boost fooling, and he thought it was in the Bullydog's signal to the map sensor. I am on hold right now with Bullydog, and will see what they have to say.
