For ME there is no way I would get a 12, honestly I wish I had gotten an aroura 5000 cause the turbo I have now wont keep me cool at WOT.
If it is much more money I wouldnt worry about the 14 cause like homewrecker said there wont be enough differance to matter much anyway.
I dont see a downloader in your sig but if you got a 14 and it was too laggy for ya you could get a smarty, or if you had a smarty just turn your torque managment up.
I am at 800ft above sea level and with my mods and 6 spd I have no troubles spooling my 66 or towing with it, even well over 20k lbs.

You can go with the 12 and if you don't like it you can send it to HTT to be changed to a 14. If I were you I would get an HTT 62/65/13ss. You can go with the 71 wheel and it will work but it will be a little smokey but controllable. If you don't know what to do, Come on down and you can ride in my truck so you will know what you are getting into. I never had that luxury.

I'm at 500hp+/-, I love my HTT 62/65/14. I'm not sure about a 12cm housing as I went from the stock 9cm to the 14. My egts are fine in everyday driving, I guess get us the quote so we can further help you decide. I wouldn't spend a bunch for the upgrade, there's alot of 550-600hp trucks w/ 62/12s. They do run hot though.

Hot on the top end. Will be great for everyday driving.Great for towing.Only during long WOT runs or everything set on kill mode at the strip will it have its down sides.I could easily hit 1500* in the 1/8.Never ran the 1/4 with the 62/12 but it would have been even hotter.I towed heavy in the N.C. and Va. mountains with it and loved it.Never saw over 1250*.If you are planning on doing alot of hard playing with it then maybe you need to consider going to a 71 wheel. Will have more lag but perform much better on top end
Your gonna love it regardless of 12 or 14 housing.I would just get it the cheapest way posssible and when you go to twins you will have a very quick spooling set up.

My best suggestion to you is take your time and make the right decision for you, not a quick one. I am always around if you want to come down. It's about 1hr and 30min. to my house from Beaufort.

Now... I'm getting intel saying I should go with a 71 wheel... maybe even a 64 intake...
I'll probably be running this as a single for a while, and adding nos to it later this year...

Mark,
I run the 64/71/14 on my truck. I put down 575 on fuel and 681 w/nitrous. I've also run the 1/4 at 12.5 at 108 mph on #2. I've had a 64/65/12 prior to this charger and by far the 64/71/14 is the best I've run.
The CR engines will spool a single charger better than my 24 valve. I have no complaints with the 64/71/14.
To give a comparision with my old charger and smaller injectors I would see 1700+ through the traps in the 1/4. I now run the Super B Special with bigger injectors and see just over 1600 degrees.
This charger will tow if you're careful. I towed Metalman's truck to VA Beach without issue. I doubt it would tow a 5er through the mountains but you get my point.
The BD Special starts to spool around 1700 rpm and will run around 850* with 2 psi of boost on the highway running 70mph.
I wish you lived closer, I would let you take my truck out so you could see for yourself.
At a minimum, no matter what compressor wheel you go with, I would stick with the 71mm LDP trim turbine wheel.
Let me know if I can help.
Mike

You wil need to go to the 71 wheel if NOS is in your future.Sounds to me like you need to set a HP goal and determine the primary use then spend your money on a turbo or turbo's.
