Turbo

I have the Prostreet 66 from HTT and I love it. It will take some getting used to but it is very streetable. And as far as for lag, I consider lag not a turbo problem but a lack of fuel problem and with my sticks and Smarty I have way more fuel than I need. You will notice some surge like going up long hills and rpm's less than 2000 if you try to accelerate slowly, but that is easily fixed by accelerating faster or just holding your speed. I have a stick and it is very easy to drive around the surge. If your goal is more than 500 hp then in my opinion you need something bigger than a 62, you can do 500-600 hp with a 62 but it's gonna be real freaking hot. I have enough fuel such that I can get real hot with the 66, I am thinking i am in the 600-625 hp range but I haven't dynoed yet. Jay

My only complaint on my siverbullet is the surging that occurs if towing up a hill at rpm below 2000. Your gonna have to downshift but thats it.

I dont mind the slower spool because as soon as it lights its GONE.

You dont need to spool it at the track because you leave at 20psi.

Nodays with CR's you dont need to have twins to make big power or go fast.

It you want 600hp+ your better off with a Silverbullet 66mm or larger.

Definetly go with a Single and stage 2 CP3 vs twins and stock cp3.

Heck get a used silverbullet for $1,500 and go with dual CP3's !!!!!!!

Twins can be a PITA

You won't like eather one of them when summer hits in the Nevada desert, smoke, lag, higher egt's getting on the freeways and towing oh did I say smoke. All these people that like the bigger turbos don't live in the nevada desert. I have run the SB66, SB62, HTT 64-71-13 and I always go back to the HTB2-62-12. The HTT 64-71-13 SS was harder to spool than the SB66

Alot of people with big turbos live in high elevations, do you think that people that live above 4,000 feet dont like to have the max power.

My smoke is managable. I just took took the backway home from Tahoe. I took Highway 88 over 3 passes from 7,500-8,000 feet over Kirkwood and took Morman Immigrant.

Silverbullet with the Smarty on #3 and a little pressure from the MP8. I had plenty of power to pass people w/o smoking them out. Off the line spool was slow at 7,000 feet and required a little more throttle and clutch.

There's alot of high dessert bombers in AZ, NM.

My Silver62 does just fine with 670hp of fuel thrown at it....spools instantly and at 52 psi, i see 1400+ ONLY at about 110+mph.....which is OK with me....next year i am adding more fuel so I am going with the Silver Bullet.

Give both II and HTT a call, get their opinions....make sure too tell them were your truck is with HP, where you wanna go, and what you do with it.....they will get you real close.

670 on the street with a 62? Come on...please.

The madness has to stop...

Do you know the air mass flow difference between an A5k and your 62 at 52 psi? It is almost TWICE.

I could hotter than that just under 600 hp.

62 are for 500 hp and less daily trucks...

I have not issues with mine but I have a standard and I am at about 800ft.

If I did it again I would get a SB or bigger, JMO

And I have grossed close to 30k towing so with 10k behind you I wouldnt think it would be an issue.

Whats the out side Temp in those mountains Ill bet its not over about 75*
temp is harder on spool up and smoke then elevation, its fall going into winter
and the bigger turbos work in cool air

Haha it was actually very warm. Last thursday 25th it was in the high 70's and I think my my overhead was 74' over the summit.

The only time it will smoke more then a smaller charger is during the spool up.

Small turbos smoke just as bad as larger ones until they light, which is sonner then on a larger one. My SB clears up completely as soon as it lights off at 14psi, stock is around 9psi

Here's a clip of the smoke my stock turbo makes.

I daily drive my truck everyday with neither of my chips on just the stix to light the turbo and it is fine to drive. I mean if you punch it it takes a bit for it to take off but thats not a big deal for me. I also have the cam too so it helps it spool a little better. With just the 100 horse injectors my truck doesn't even smoke at all when I get on it. Hopefully it will get a bit more smokey when I put the crazy larry back on it. I just gotta let the motor break in first.
