How A Redneck (Yours' Truly) Tunes For Nitrous!!! (Vid Incl.)

Just thought I would share this little video of our clubs last dyno day. The best the old truck would pull was what''s listed in my sig. Dmaxeter (the guy holding the bottle and praying) allways trying to get me to try some kind of gas. So he mentions that he heard of this guy who simply got a bottle and shot some into the open end of the turbo inlet. I said holly cow!!!! We gotta try that So the speed shop owner says he has a spare bottle with a little NOS left in it and we fire away. Went from a best of 519/1117 to 567/1210!!!!

Hey Nate, If you look real close at Dmax's left shirt sleeve, you can see the stream. The bottle was nearly emty, so it was more of the liquid than the gas that came out. Thats why it's so hard to tell. But believe me this stuff worked!!! Deff. sold me on a nitrous set-up.

Nice!! Nice !!!

Ive heard of people shooting thoes aerosole dusters(no2) into a vacuum port to gain a little shot of hp on POS cars.

I also no lie tried to supercharge my high school car 94 Dodge Shadow with a gas power leaf blower under the hood. Too bad the duct tape that was holding the hood down came loose at 45mph and blew the hood back and dented it. The hood now hangs on the wall in my garage kinda like how they do it with nascar hoods at a sports bar.

My buddies and I also killed a 89 Ford Tempo at the local OHV Prairie City, park. I painted it camo, installed 2 6" hella ralley lights on the hood, functional velocity hood stack, cut the exhaust at the y pipe, and all 4 of us had on helmets and ralleyed the ^%% out of it. We jumped it and took it up some hill climbs and passed up a stuck jeep in the mud bog at 50mph. It died because we jumped it so hard and landed on the front end and cracked the tranny cooler and eventually smoked the tranny due to lack of fluid. Since we knew we were going to kill it we brought the trailer and dropped it off at the junk yard.

sorry for the hijack I know there's tons of redneck stories out there.

When I was tuning my nitrous setup on the dually, at one point I simply removed the jet entirely to see if it would bring egt's down any further and help power. As it turned out, the jet that was in my fogger nozzle must have already been maxing out what that nozzle could flow, as it didn't really change anything. Of course, had this been a gasoline engine I would not have done that...
