How much can my stock 2006 auto take???
I have the Banks Six Gun on my truck right now with Power PDA
(Speed Loader)...... My question is what level if any will break my transmission under normal driving conditions? What level for racing (Boosted Launches) will kill my tranny? Just wondering what it can handle I've never tried speed loader but would like to just wondering if my transmission will hold up?

I doubt Banks will be able to hurt the stock trans....
JK man, I wouldnt ever do boosted launches with a stock trans. I dont know what levels of Banks would hurt anything as I have never had Banks, I know the guys behind me have a couple of their products
Sorry, I couldnt resist

I have the six gun with the pda too. I tow on level 3 all the time. Drive empty on level 5 (best mileage) I've driven it like that for 20,000 miles without a clitch from the trans. I have also used speed loader several times. I did tune it to add no power during shifts and t.c. lockup in level 1thru 6

You are probably alright with what you have right now as far as power, but I wouldn't go with much more than what you already have! As far as "boost launches" on a stock transmission, there is no way I would go higher than about 10lbs. The stock output shafts in the 48RE as well as the 47RE are EXTREMELY WEAK! I know because I broke three (3) of them in my 2002 Dodge CTD 24 valve! My buddy Mike Dolan who goes by "Mike D." on this site has also broken a couple stock ones as well as one billet output shaft!
The really weak link in all Dodge CTD automatics is the sorry torque converter!
It is a single disc TC with a stall speed that is too high for any of the Cummins Engines; 89-06! Under hard abuse, that TC gets hot and then sends all that hot fluid back through the clutch packs in the transmission to do slow damage to the fiber/metal discs in the forwards, high reverse and overdrive clutch packs.
My advice would be to get AT LEAST an aftermarket TC and valve body as soon as you can! And if you are planning on drag racing I would highly recommend billet input and output shafts in the tranny also.
Good luck.

Not saying the 48re is completely junk in the stock form and not saying it definately wont hold up to power adders and boosted launches but don't expect it to. You could have the stock tranny last a loing time even with some abuse but if it decides to go... don't act like it owes you something. It is what it is. THE WEAK LINK in a very strong truck. (Especially with the tires you and i are running - definately added stress)

One other thing i have mention. In other threads i have read about people with the pda, is that they say there trans slips up to 25%. They misunderstanding the trans slip feature. It goes by rpm. So when they think it means % it really is the rpm difference.
