How much can it handle?`
Hey Yall:
I am getting ready to order a mod and would like some advice. I am not interested in having my manual transmission go out any time soon, so I would like to purchase a mod that would provide me with some good power and black smoke!
Any suggestions on programs? How much can my factor transmission handle? I have thought about the Xzillaraider, power pup, and/or TS Ramifier. I have a 2004.5 CTD 6 speed manual tranny....
Thanks for your help...

hey Cetane,
Your tranny can handle more than you are going to throw at it, its the clutch thats going to let you down. If you want to do nothing to your tranny for a while I would recommend and Edge EZ or the new Quad 65 hp tow module. That is about all that clutch is going to handle. You can get an adjustable box but, once you get up to about 70 hp you are going to be able to slip the clutch in at least 6th gear. A 65 hp box is REALLY going to wake your truck up so dont think you are selling yourself short, I run my box on about 30 hp almost all the time. With your airflow improvements your truck has probably lost a little umf with the lost backpressure so you need a little more fuel to get it up to speed (in my opinion) Plus, you need to fill out your signature so everybody knows what you have done, until then we can just assume and because of that I am assuming you havent put in any gauges yet. You need to do that first (disclaimer) and if you are going to not put in gauges then you need to not get a box or if you are going to get a box then a mild one like the 2 I mentioned. Temps get hot quick if towing, if its 90 degrees out, or if you have that right peddle pushed down hard!
Hope this helps

Just stay out of the levels #4 and 5 and you will be fine with the stock clutch.

You could go with the Bully Dog Power pup. The 130hp program won't slip most stock clutches, it wouldn't even come close to slipping mine when it was stock. I wouldn't do the Crazy Larry though... And the BDPP is notorious for offensive amounts of smoke

The clutches in the 600s seem to be quite a bit tougher than the 555 units. A couple of friends have run TST boxed setups to the 450 rwhp level and the stock clutch held it. If anything, the clutch is the weak area of the tranny. The 5600 itself seems to be able to take massive amounts of abuse

I think all 3rd gen 6spd clutches are the same... I know the 2nd gen 6spd clutches sucked bad! The 04.5-05 NV5600 clutch will hold 400rwhp very easy, at 450rwhp you'll be buying a clutch. I've proven this.
