how many sled pullers out there?

I am going to do my first sled pull tomarrow night and was wondering how many of you have pulled, and if anyone has any good advice for a first timer?
I will be in the stock class, under 8000 lbs. I am excited to try it but I don't know what to expect.

Air up those firestones to 100psi.
Lower the pressure in the front tires to around 35psi.
Get your hitch height up as high as you can.

I think the biggest thing to watch out for is hoping. When you hop you risk breaking something, if it does that let out of it. Spool 4-5psi(more or less for how sticky the track is) and slowly let out of the brake(ride it a little) while you slowly get into the skinny pedal. Youll love it!

Dump a bottle of cetane boost into the tank and make sure to have the boxes set to where you make the most horsepower.

let us all know how it went!

I would like to have a puller, but have to depend on my truck to much to have it down on mondays. We have a little fun with a dragster that we play with on the weekends, so that usually gets me by.

IT WAS AWSOME!! That was the most fun I've had in a long time. I took 2nd place in the stock/street class with a pull of 261 feet. I used everyones advice so thankyou. Air bags full, cetane boost, 2nd gear, tow-haul, 4wd low. I also have to depend on my truck for work everyday so I didn't want to run to hard. I got a little nervous because the guy right before me in an 06 mega cab said goodbye to his head gasket and came to a stop in a cloud of white smoke. I am sure I will be pulling again next season, and maybe I will have to get another truck to use only for pulling someday. I think may have done better with some more agressive tires also. Over all I would recomend trying it. I have a video, but no idea how to post it yet. It sounds pretty good with the 5" stacks and strait pipe, best sounding truck in the stock/street class IMHO.
