How many miles before you added a box?
Just wondering what the protocol is with respect to breaking in the CTD and bombing it with a box of some type. I only have a tick over 1000miles on the clock. Should I wait?

I waited as long as I could stand it, about 3000 miles. I think the deciding factor is "are you ready to be your own warranty station". Until you are ready for that, then I would leave it stock and enjoy. Any performance mod has the potential to void some or all of the vehicle warranty.
That said, this is my first diesel truck so I started with gauges(get a baseline for the truck), then air intake, then exhaust and then mild performance box, then medium performance box and tomorrow a fairly strong performance box. Transmission/TC upgrade is next and then I will look at turbo upgrade and injectors. It never seems to be enough. That's my story.

Looks like I held out the longest. I had well over 30k on mine and over a year old before I took the plunge. I did put an exhaust system on with only 3000 on it though

If you want your truck to last and care about your warranty, you should at least let the engine break in for about 10,000 miles first. Most things that are put together wrong at the factory will show up by then and you can get it repaired for free by your friendly Dodge dealer.
