how many miles before bombing?

Is there any reason to put several thousand miles on my cummins before it gets bombed? Also, I know that a chip may void my warranty (if they see it) but what about airaid and different muffler? Any suggestions?

I would wait at least 3-5K miles before doing any bombing. Just to make sure the truck doesn't have any problems first.

On the other hand I would put some guages on and get good baseline #'s before the bombing started.

Put some guages on asap!

I agree on the guages. The only prob is that I really like the display on the juice better than the others. I saw somewhere on this board that it might be available for dodge in several months? I might have some more towing miles on her by that time.

I agree with RankRam, wait at least 3-5K. I think it will give your rings a chance to seat under engineered conditions and not run the risk of scoring the cylinders.

These engines are pretty tough and they could probably take bombing right away, but certainly that's not the best for it.

I waited almost 10k before trying out a box.

Heh, I think I might of crossed the 500 mile barrier first. Not sure if I made it quite that far but close anyhow.
