Dan, I think you have figured out what I figured out in the past 6 months. For streetable horsepower above 550-600 twins are a must, if you want to stay in the sane temp range. I am running Flux 3.3's with a 66/71/14 turbo and I get too hot even on the top end, and that is with a Helix 2 cam. I am going the twin route. Jay

[QUOTE=Dan Marino;2109458]Ok, I had two pulls tonight. First pull was a little weird. It was a street class pull. Didnt build enough boost at the line and the turbo lagged for 40 feet or so, and the whole thing was screwed up from there till 325 feet...but I saw 1650 at the end for 10 feet. I am fine with around 1500 at the end.

good lord man, 1650 is going to make you pay.

when You hook make absolutly sure your themrostat has opened. I let my truck sit and run for awhile to make sure the thrmostat has opened. If it's having problems getting up to temp I will even turn the ac on. The thrmostat opens at 200 I think and then it will drop back down to 190. First pull I did I went up there with the water temp right at 175 and same thing by the time I had her shut down at the end of the track it was at 230. Next time I went up and made sure the thrmostat wsa open and turned the heater on full blast my water temp only went to 216.

I turned the boost up to around 58-60psi, Added an intercooler and my temps are startin to get a little better1550-1600*Max While pullin. But twins are in the works for me so that I can tow a little easier and not stare at my pyro all the time. My cruising egts are lower since the HTT Intercooler got stuffed in as well

As Don said, it's the cruising temps that really seem odd. On my 05 I have a HTT 66/71/16 stainless over a S480, with Flux 4.7's, and at 60mph it will run ~5psi of boost and just slightly more then 600*. This is using a Smarty with the TNT/R tune. Something is up with your truck. I would check for boost and exhaust leaks, and as others have said try using a Smarty. Make sure also that you don't have a wastegate hanging open.

Here is from my personal experience. Even with stock injectors and Floor-it stg2 pump and 66mm charger my Edge Hot would peg any guage hooked to it. I tried a Smarty and egts stayed in tacked on sw9 4.11 at no more than 1500 ever. I got 3.3's from Don and the 4.2 and now the TnT Revo and pullin I get to 1500 on sw9 as well as 1/4 mile. I do put water on sometimes if I can get away with it and stay under 1500 with water in the 1/4. I have noticed it stays cooler pullin than street driving as the load is less for say. The engine is being pulled harder but your in a lower gear range and youo should have the tires spinning at the end or close to it as the sled tries to stop so the load has left the sled and went to just spinning tires. Thats the way I think about it and trust I spare the thing no mearcy when doing either. Didn't want to admit jumping on the Smarty bandwagon but it has cooled the egts way down and made safer power than the Edge I had. The only thing I miss about the Edge is no adjustablility when driving. So now I leave Smarty off or on sw1.

Oh and at 70mph I am at 800* cruising at about 4lbs of boost if its not turned up it will not get over 1350* if it is it will get warm at WOT.

I am going with MPI a 62/71/13 ss and the S480 and intercooler at the same time. I have done a lot of research and I think this setup will allow me to fully use the 3.3's without water and keep temps sane. I do have a set of spare injectors that are currently 3.4's and in excellent working condition that I plan on making upwards of 4-5's. This I am sure will require water, but I have a novel idea about an intercooler design that I am going to look into.
I didn't look at your sig but a cam helps out very nicely with temps also. Don's Helix 2 made my truck more responsive, cooler and all around more aggresive personality. Jay
