Question How to install a turbo

I bought a II Super Phat Shaft 62 Turbo last week and recieved it today.
I plan on installing it myself, I think. I would like to know if there is anything special I need to do to install my turbo?

you need to take the turbo/manifold off together. I reccomend getting a new gasket for the turbo flange and studs/nuts for the new turbo from a cummins place. I would oil your new turbo with a little squirt jug with new oil in it. I went ahead and put new oil in my truck also when I installed my turbo to have clean oil run thru it. you will also have to disconnect the oil line that runs to the oil pan. you can pull it out or unbolt it from the turbo, I help this info helps you out. im sure other guys will add something that I missed. take your time and have someone help you the turbo and manifold are heavy.

the new turbo should have come with a resistor to plug up to the factory electrical, if it didnt, pm me and ill sell ya mine. Or you can just wire in a 100ohm 1/2 watt resistor, thats what i did.

The turbo is easiest to install if you pull off the whole exhaust manifold, which you might need an extra hand for, but other than that its pretty straight forward. when you go to put the new one back in, attach the oil drain tube to the turbo and while you lower it in, stick the end into the pan. You will need a buddy to help out.

oops. i just realized you have an 03, never mind bout the resistor...thats for the 04.5 and up
