How hot and how long before melt down?

2 of the places I ride each have a hill where I have maintained 1400-1500* for about 2-3 minutes continuously w/11k toyhauler behind. I figured with a stock truck, it would let me know if I was pushing it too hard.

I thought 2004.5 and later had a improved head (although they had some problem of dropping valve seats) and were good for a couple of hundred degrees more (up from 1250 to like 1500)
Is this correct or is this a 'senior moment' for my memory?

They have the sodium filled valves and oil jets on the pistons for cooling, but the piston material is the same from what I was told. (the crowns are different shape though) Same material is about the same melting point.

All of these trucks have the piston cooling jets!!!

Right, but the newer ones are supposed to have more and/or better placed cooling jets.
