Ah,

As long as you just put it in 2nd, 4 low and ease into it, you should not damage anything going that slow. That's what I did my first couple of times. But, hey, maybe I'll see you at some of those pulls. Big Lick was my very first hook where my tires chewed the fenders real good!!

I would think a professional mx could do it in 2.5 hrs. For prices and excellent quality springs... see HERE. Look under Dodge/Camshafts

With a bad back and lots of breaks it took me most of a day. Made the mistake of doing #6 last... was a killer for me

I know anyone can install valve springs. But are they installed 100% correctly? I have a guy who just does heads, nothing else. I've had him do cylinder heads for me in the past. There's more to just installing the spring. There are shims to get the correct pressures and checking for coil bind, open and closed pressures. Unless something is different in the diesel world, I'll wait until I pull my head to get it done correctly. Might as well get some porting done also. JMHO.

No shims on any of the 2nd gen springs I've pulled.Don't think the 3rd gen would be any different.Didn't notice anything unusual about them when I was changing the injectors.

f-1 matches their springs so all you have to do is change them out.
unruly nfs, I'm the one that was helping cris change his injectors. I look forward to meeting you in a couple of weeks and we will get the springs done. I will soon be needing springs also.

You have to be joking to think springs can be done in 2.5 hours.
I have done numerous valve spring changes on 3rd gens and it always takes about 3.5-4 hours. I ALWAYS double and triple check torque on every bolt. You have to do this because of the hydraulic pressure created from the oil in the bolt hole. Start throwing in different after market intakes that have a stud planted firmly in front of the #2 injector line and time increases.
This is another one of those things like guys saying injectors can be done in 1 hour. It can be done, but I would NOT trust the job.

I look forward to meeting you too, especially if your gonna help. I'll leave the spring compressor tool at Cris's for anybody else to use.
Yeah, with any luck, we might get to go drag racing. Be sure and bring that truck of yours out too. I want to take a ride in it. You get those injectors and CP3 in there yet??? If so, what kind of rail pressure are you getting?

We worked on my truck until about 9 o'clock monday night and I got the injectors in it. I decided to see if the stock cp3 could keep up. I does alright as long as you only run one programmer/module. I tried the samrty and tst stacked last night and a wot it would only maintain 15K rail pressure and spike to 17.5K when it would shift. We are going to install the traction bars and stage II cp3 this weekend. I plan to go dyno it next week to see if I can get close to 700 hp.
