Interesting thread....My question is this... boost numbers just show how much boost is being made over the atmospheric pressure correct? A true MAP sensor will show an absolute value of pressure in the intake system i.e. boost + the atmospheric air pressure at that given point. I live in Denver so an uncorrected MAP number might be 25" (std atmosphere) plus 12lbs boost for a total of 37" MAP. So my question is which boxes actually control or can made to control the wastegate so that maximum MAP can be achieved? By the way the Turbo Arrow IV I fly will make 42" all the way to 12K altitude on a good day after that it falls off accordingly. We try not to run it over 35" too much tough

I am just asking in a round about way which boxes, downloaders, etc are able to control the waste gate in order to achieve maximum MAP? Boost numbers by themselves are fairly well useless.

P.S. MAP = Absolute manifold pressure in inches of Hg

None of the modules are directly controlling the wastegate. We simply keep it from opening when we do not want it to. Once it is shut it simply makes as much boost as you have fuel.

I think I have a solution so stay posted.

The Juice Attitude Monitor is suppose to control the wastegate. It has a max boost setting and is suppose to activate the wastegate at whatever psi you choose.
With that said, mine doesn't seem to work to well. I don't know if I have a faulty box, or if they all don't work very well. I can set my max at 38psi and it will hit and hold 41. I have to set it clear down to like 30, and then it will still hit 41 for a couple seconds, but then backs way off to like 32psi - not enough power. I can't seem to find a happy middle ground with it. I need to call Edge and talk to them about it.

I'll pay you for the instructions to pinch the wastegate hose on a 04.5-06 truck.

I bet its not really easy, really fast,or really cheap!
