I use a mount from http://www.pro-fit-intl.com/ to mount my cell phone and my hand-held 2-meter radio. I really like their mounts, they have specific vehicle fitting mounts and also universal mounts.

I like the weighted, sit on your dash model. You can move them whereever you want, but they stay seated whereever you put them.

And more importantly, when I get stopped.........I can remove it quickly from the dash so prying eyes don't decide to break my window when im not near my truck.

Like TexasCTD I also use a beanbag mount on the dash. Easy to move from vehicle to vehicle and to setup.

This is how I have mine. The street GPS, on the right, goes between my truck and my wifes 4runner, so I have the windshield mount attached to a plate that Garmin includes.

I still need to find time to hard wire the power supplies and run them thru the dash.

on mine i mounted it under the lip of the dash eyebrow, ran the cord thu the dash, then tapped int the lighter plug, by adding a 2nd socket behind the dash.

Very nice. I might have to steal that idea and relocate mine.
