How to buff out or remove rust from accessories?

We all have chrome/aluminum and stainless steel accessories. I noticed my Weston nerf bars have like rust spots on them (circles) When i use foam brush at car wash I can remove most of it but how to get it all? should a guy use a powerball on a drill or buffer with some mothers wax?

I think my westons are like chrome painted fibreglass or something so i dont even know why they can start to rust. Also noticed my stainless tailgate protector is rusting. Rust circles.

Yeah, my truck is doing the same thing. It is the Magchloride that they are using on the roads when it snows here in Colorado. Some times you can buff some of the spots off with wax.

I use the powerball and Mothers, seems to be working great, the state of Colorado needs to give use some sort of tax break for all the car washes and washer fluid to keep the MAG at bay I just slow down and run in 4 high when the roads are bad thus I would rather do w/o all the mag, I swear they put it down so heavy you could hydrplane on it!!

^^^^^ I agree, steel wool does wonders...just don't press down to hard, let it glide.

use it by itself then wax the chrome to seal the metal to minimize the rust. You will need to wax every couple months to keep it from coming back though.

I use the brillo pad that has the soap in it. (forgot the name) Then I wash it off and put some chrome polish on it. That or some never-dull.
