Panterra, That one looks nice and price seems better. 03 is my favorite. Is it ho or so 47re or 48re....taker for a ride. Spend some time between 60mph and 70mph and check for THE vibration. Check the u joints especially the front shaft ones. Open up the observation port on the tranny and check out it out. Get an oil analysis done if you have time. I find CAT dealers the fastest for testing here. Check the ball joints they should be good but they are expensive to replace them all which I'm doing a t 135k miles. Go for it if all is good. ks

The only problem I have is that I live in texas and the truck is in north carolina. Any suggestions on how I should go about this?

pantera, Did you start with a carfax and if you are ready to start see if you can find a friend on here that is able to go legwork for you....even if it costs you a little...(case of beer and standyne) ks
