I will probably give that a try on my truck but would love some feedback from you on this.
Thanks Gentlemen

I've never had to deal with snow, but I have driven through lots of water (sometimes at high speeds) and I've never had a problem with the filter getting wet.

Could someone give me a idea how much louder a AFE Torque Tube would make a stock 2005 with a AFE Progaurd 7 drop in filter? I already have the filter installed and it is just as quite as the stock one was but I have been thinking about buying a torque tube to install on it. Can the AFE torque tube be installed on the stock air cleaner setup?

just don't cut them so short that you can't slip the fitting over with it backed off all the way, trying to catch a thread while having to compress it to reach would be a real pain in the but.

Thanks for the info, my better half has the truck so I can't measure it and I want to get
started on it now. Should I take the s ring too? The rest of the intake is all stock

I just measured the stock tube with baffles and it is 8" long. I didn't cut my tubing yet and wondering why you cut 6.75" and not 8". Are all the 3rd gen tubes the same length?
Thanks[
Thanks[
I cut mine to 6.75 inches.

Me too. Just finished cutting mine to 7and7/8" and am now trying to get the snap ring off the turbo. Got to say, that 5.5" tube fits the hose perfect. Nice and snug!
