Homemade rear leafs

Homemade rear leafs
Hey everyone.
My truck is an 05 1 ton dump truck & I keep killing air bags and timbrens in the rear.
I am hoping to take a pair of stock leaf springs from a 2500 shortbed & cut a few of the leafs & add them to my 3500 spring packs, as with air bags or timbrens between the frame and the rear axle, the suspension bottoms out before the bottom overload spring even takes effect.
My thought is that with 2 or 3 of these leaves in place of the overload and the spring blanks, the main pack will be able to absorb a little more of the load, instead of transferring it directly to the poor timbrens or airbags, which I've been destroying fairly regularly.
Any advice?
Thanks
Ben

no to be a smart &%$ but sounds like you need a bigger truck. I know that they are coming out with a new 4500 & 5500 class truck with a cab and chassis and has a 19k GVW. I would contact a company that could make you up a pack, that would be the safer route.
