Holy mackerel, Maxbrake is awesome.
Just installed a Maxbrake last week and pulled a 20' car trailer and a 10,500 lb 5er and this thing is just awesome. The whole rig just stops as one very smoothly with either trailer.
I will never again use a controller that sense inertia to apply brakes. I was pulling a skidsteer once and turned off a road onto a driveway that, as it turns out, was iced over. The driveway sloped down toward the house, and when I tried to stop the pickup locked up and the trailer brakes didnt engage because there wasnt enough deceleration. So the trailer just pushed me into the flag pole and fence in front of the house. If I had a Maxbrake unit, the trailer brakes would have come on when I hit the brakes and the trailer was still on the road where there was traction.
No, I wasnt going fast, this all happened at about 3-4 mph.
