That big ol' turbo helped you SUBSTANTIALLY...I wish that when I dyno'd I had a bigger turbo...you can tell by my dyno video that my truck needs air BADLY. I am smoking like a freight train and all I have is what's in my sig. Mustang operator said that had I had more air, my numbers would have been a good bit better.

Boy does that sound farmiliar! My wimpy little stocker has no chance of cleaning it up, it's sooooo black.

160 hp Diablo plus 100 hp Juice 397.2/844

I'm pretty bummed, I was hoping for mid 400 range, I can't believe I didn't even crack 400! Do the numbers seem right, doesn't that first run especially look low? It was getting the same boost as I see on the street, about 36 so I don't think I was slipping on the rollers. Lots of black smoke though so it looks like the beer cans will be going into a twins fund.

nickle........hey man I'm with you, look at my numbers and then stare at my mods! Dude I was freakin choked when I rolled off the rollers....like guys are saying I can make ----- hp with only this done, it burns my rump to hear and read those kind of numbers are coming from a merely stock units.
I've been advised to hit a dyno jet and see from there, until then I sit at 491hp.
I will be hitting the same dyno in June then a dynojet in July, only changes to my mods Smarty beta tune.

FYI I rolled a 434hp with edge hot juice, 64/12 single, flux2 sticks, modded pump, walbro fuel system.

and now I'm at 491hp with twins, Smarty #9,

Geez I think I would be mildly choked as well, I have no idea how you didn't blow the 500 mark away.

Oh goodie goodie, so like 491hp + 20%equals 589hp~ that seems more realistic, time will tell soon enough.

just to give you a idea of the difference between dyno numbers...

with MY CAR( just so this is clear).... I did 711AWHP at low boost (32psi) with a GT45R on a MUSTANG DYNO....on a DYNOJET with the same boost it was 903awhp. changing nothing!!!! its the difference in the rollers... small rollers, big rollers, eddy current dynos read lower than others.
it takes 1013awhp on a DYNOJET to run a 8.97 ET with a lancer Evolution same EVO on a MUSTANG dyno 750-785awhp gets you a 8.95 ET. you know both cars make the same hp because they run the same times. what you need to learn is that DYNO numbers are for impressing people. real motorheads will know this right off the bat. its impossible on 2 clean runs to have the same cars make 1013hp and 750hp and run the same time. it CAN"T happen on clean runs.

so dont be disapointed. on a mustang dyno thats a lot! good job!!!

Yep, I ran the stack I have on the stock charger for several months until an opportunity came along to upgrade. All I did was smoke smoke smoke. Smoke is nice, but I hate seeing a rig belch black and it never clears during the whole time it's accelerating....some guys are like "oh look how much smoke and power I have" I just can't stand that.

also you might find that the trucks smoke more on a mustang dyno than on a dynojet or dynapack. this is because the mustang dyno loads the truck up almost exactly like if you were driving it on the street! you will probably see the same boost and EGT's due to engine load on the street as you will on the mustang dyno. the dynojet doesnt load the car the same. i gained 5-6psi on the car different from the dynapack to the street. 5-6psi is about 100awhp( 25awhp per psi). i haven't taken my truck to the dyno, thats why im always refering to the car....its the only thing i have tested for sure.

hope this stuff helps if any.

I think that your car and our trucks are a lot different.

555, whos dyno did you run? It sounds low to me,, but I think that there are some tricks that I think we should try. I think we can do some work with that. Maybe I should try a dynojet,, maybe I can hit some really big numbers,, lol.

Ill pm you here in a day or too, go over some stuff with you

First off its because most posted dyno numbers are from the 04.5+ owners and thoes year clearley make more hp and us 03-04 owners keep quite off in the wings waiting for a great equalizer.

Also adding a Silverbullet to my 04HO w/ Smarty didnt add much seat of the pants hp. It felt like maybe 20hp. It dynoed at 380hp on sw9. This was I needed to stack a pressure box but even then I only had 418 with a ez on 2 and smarty on 9. A 04.5+ could easily lay down higher numbers with a smarty ALONE stock turbo.

Having a 03SO is another reason for the low numbers.

what rmp were you going WOT under and what gear?

555, Your power is right on for your boost with stock turbo, stock injectors, stock CP3, and 03 ECM. I have a stock 03 engine in the dually now with Flux 1.5's and Smarty and I can Pin 40psi on my non-wastegated stock turbo. I figure I'm making 400hp or so. Without a better turbo, bigger injectors or a 170hp program that is all you make....You are stacking two timing adders so you are treading on thin ice. Typically you should have a dominant programer with a supporting box to add a tuning capability to your set-up. The Diablo with a MP-8 might get you over the 400hp mark....you will need more turbo to get beyond that. KS

Amen, I wish you guys wouldn't comment like you have the same truck. The 04.5s and newer are much stronger due to the injectors/3rd inj event. Those #s are right on, I'd be happy! Get injectors and some more air or an 04.5-07 and just add a programmer. Be HAPPY, we have the last of the emission-less trucks, no cats, no nothing!
