Hit 24 mpg with 2004.5 ram diesel?

Advocate of getting the ban button used on him...
Same here. If I could keep it between 50 and 60 I can easily squeeze out 24 - 25 MPG but driving in those conditions is few and far between I average 20 to 21 on my 40 mile a day highway commute for work.

My best was just over 21 MPG Canadian, that was "stock" and druiving very easy.
I just don't see how some people are getting over 20 miles per US gallon, I'm not saying they're lying I just wish I could get that....

We did a 2k mile road trip last fall and the trip average from leaving with a full tank to arriving and filling averaged 24.8 mpg (hand calculated from receipts). Mostly highway driving but a bit of city driving too. Trip was from Houston to Utah and back through Colorado. Mountains, flats, you name it we probably drove it. My local freeway trips consistantly run 23-24mpg. I've never seen less than 22mpg on the road unless towing a boat. Overhead display is usually 2-3mpg optimistic on the highway (often read 27-28 on a road trip which is nuts).
This is a 2wd, auto, 03 SO engine, 3.73 gears, original size highway tires, new air filter, tonneau cover and a light foot. Only additions are a 4" exhaust that didn't seem to do anything but make more noise. Also has a Predator towing chip.
I think the 03 SO might have been the best mileage engine Dodge ever put in a truck. A friend with an 03 HO 4X4 gets 20-22 on the road. My worst is better than his best.

I just did a road trip with my '03 pulling a 27' travel trailer, Smarty Jr. set to tow (2 - low smoke sw). Calgary to Vancouver, then South (a mix of I5 and the costal 101) to Central Pt. Oregon, up to Crater Lake then hightailed it home to Airdrie. Time did not permit a slow drive so it was set the cruise at the speeding limit (5-9 over), found some nasty winds - RV window cover was flexing enough to see the supports @ 70, and it was way too much fun to use the Smarty power for passing and climbing the hills.
The results - 3020 miles, 230.69 US gallons = 13.09 mpUSg average which was close to what the lie-o-meter was saying as it ranged from 14.4 to 12.3. For us Canadians thats 15.7 mpCAg or 17.97 L/100km. I have not even run a full tank through the truck without the trailer, but the overhead on an easy trip to Calgary showed 19.5 to 20 mpUSg.

You Juice always runs on two settings. The main setting 1-6 and the low boost setting 1-6. Yes the low boost setting is for initial take off only. Alot of people see better fuel mileage from it useing less fuel on take off with the lower low boost setting. So it's not levels 3 and 1 at once, its level 3 with low boost fooling 1 or 3/1.
