High Tech Turbos and Warranty?
Does anyone know anything about High tech turbo and warranty policies they have I purchased a super stock 62/14 from them back at the end of october last year so its only 9 months old and has 11k miles on it well we took it off of my 03 6spd truck a month or so ago and set it in shop and really didnt inspect it until earlier today we noticed that their was alot of burned sticky oil on exhaust side of the compressor wheel. Possibly burnt seal is what we are suspecting. Alot of play in shaft or atleast more the the stocker fins hit the housing when moved just right and 3 of the fins on the exhuast side are bent not broke or chipped just bent. This turbo has really been babied no crazy egts or hard miles just average driving and a few trips to the track and boost never saw past 45psi. I had it sold to a buddy of mine fro $800 now from what i was told by another company its going to be around $500-$1000 to fix it and it will be a phat shaft 62 then and when compared next to the phat shaft 62 nearly identical all #s on the outside of the turbos are the same all bolt holes everything but i guess the II internals are alot better. Any Ideas i am not pleased now its going to cost more to fix it then i was even going to sell the turbo for given that was a friend price but still 11K on a brand new turbo and its broke thats rediculous. HELP!

I'm not seeing anything on their website. I figure it's only 9 months old they should stand behind their product. Best thing to do is call them directly first thing on Monday and find out what the deal is.

$500-$1000 seems like a lot for what you describe unless it is totally FUBAR'ed and needing new housings all around. You might as well buy another NEW turbo.
I sent my BD twins primary turbo in to HTT to get rebuilt. For media blasting to clean everything up, new seals, slight over-bore to fit oversized bearings in - cost me $350 with 1 day turn-around - actually 1/2 day since it arrived 1st thing in the morning and was shipped back out that afternoon.
As much as BD tell people it is some specially designed turbo, it was still an S300 variant and many of the repair parts were off the shelf Borg-Warner.
These vendors put so much mark-up on these turbos, it's ridiculous!

Dont know about their warranty but I purchased a new center section from HTT several years back and it was about $500 (62mm).
