HIGH egt's
What can I do to get my egt down? I had a MBRP 5in catback (w/o the cat!) and it was just too loud. I am also not really sure how much it lowered my temp if at all. Now i just have a stock exhaust minus the cat and on the HOT program my temp hits 1400 long before the end of the 1/4 mile, maybe 10 seconds. What are my options? Is the stock elbow a problem? Does anyone make an exhaust that isnt deafening? Will a 5 in turbo back do it? Any help is appreciated.

I removed the muffler and left the cat in. Not too loud.
I don't have a bigger turbo, so I"m hitting 1550* on Crazy Larry.
So I think you're about where temps should be.

I ended up taking the 51" Donaldson off and putting the stock exhaust back on. I just like only the sound of the turbo spooling. I'm not racing but I did notice my EGT climbs to 1400 faster with the stock system. Try a manual exhaust cut out before your muffler. Use the cut out while racing and you will have a quiet ride to and from the track when not in use.

I have the same problem except I am at 1600 at the 1/8th then it cools down then rises with the tranny shift points. I would love a bigger turbo but I tow in the winter alot and need a little charger. Twins are an option for you.
