I've only driven a few times so far at night and it seems that the stock set up is a bit dark...?

Anyone know of any HID kits?
Or better bulbs?

I got my HIDs from Ebay for $299 and LOVE them! They work REALLY well.

 

I just have HID's in my fog lights, they work too well. I will use them in unfavorable driving conditions or when there are no opposing cars. I will often get flashed when I use them all the time. I will more than likely try installing HID's in a projector headlight set up since they are a quad bulb unit, that way I can still have hi's and low's. I might be able to see on those dark country roads with six HID's blasting.

there is no high and low on the stock setup.

it's a 9007 bulb, with both filaments in one bulb.

BigDan and I have hashed it out for a few folks, search & read.

I've got a pair of HID's for stock setup if someone wants them,
i drive in town to much not to have hi/lo beam

and halogen bulbs for high beam
a real HID bulb can't be high beam - because it flickers to come on (think flourescent light) the ballast has to multi strike the Arc to create light, and it's not always "instant on"

so you run the HID 100% of the time for low beam, and the high beam is the HID low and the Halogen high separate bulb.

 

Do you have to do any wiring to keep the "Lamp Out" indicater from coming on with a 2004. Or is it a true plug and play item.

 

mine stayed on, after a few days, you ignore it.
it's down under the Odometer somewhere.

i would recommed if you measured the resistance of the filament of a true 9007 bulb, and then put resistors in ( the center is ground, left is high beam, right is low beam ) the pins, the ECM would read the resistance of the resistor and not see an open, and not report the bulb is bad.

 

It's not a 9007. It's a H13. And yes it has both a Xenon low beam and Halogen high beam in it. THey are great. To do Bi-Xenon, you need to replace the housing I suspect since typically all high beam xenons are, are the low beam xenons reflected higher up (e.g., Porsche, BMW, Lambo).

 

Just because I feel bad when people that could save some extra $$$ even thought I told you to search and if posted it before.

I went to www.hid-lights.com and got the GP Thunder 9500K Kit for $229 and like it alot. They now offer a HI/LO for $299.

To make them work just swap circuts between headlight and fog light.
