HELP! tranny wont go into overdrive
Suddenly my tranny wont go into overdrive, shifts perfectly otherwise, dosent even try. Checked the switch, checked for codes, had the shop scan the tranny, everything seems to be good, The shop is telling me that they think it is my TPS,,, even with my deal it is over 500 bucks for the TPS, so I am looking for any ideas that anybody might have

Try unplugging the Juice if you have not already. There have been a handful of people that ahd this happen and they removed the Juice and it works fine.
I think what happens is the truck goes into a limp mode because one of the injector banks gets out of balance. Not sure exactly what causes it. I am also not for sure that is your issue but it would be worth a try?

Now I have a completely different tranny that you, but when I put my triple disc in I forgot to plug a connection back up on the transmission. I didnt have overdrive or torque converter lockup, but all else was fine. Might want to crawl around, and check all your connections just to be sure.

Quick suggestion, hook up a scanner and check to see if the if the ecm is sending the signal for the OD to kick in. You have two solenoids in the VB for od and t/c lock-up, if the o/d solenoid is bad or not working there is your problem.

ground the solenoid to make sure it is opening and functioning physically.. it is closed in the non energized position, Also put a pressure gauge @ least 300 psi to the od port(drivers side top of trans by od unit) you should see 75-150 psi on the gauge when the od solenoid kicks in...if you dont you may have a bad seal.

Pressure gauges don't lie...LOL
