anyone install one of these before? I went to bolt mine up tonight and i just didnt seem to work. the sector shaft isnt square the flange and its pretty far out that i cant get the bearing to bolt on nicely.
any help is apprecated

 

From what I understand the bearings are self centering and should align themselves when you tighten them down to the flange.

 

the bearing is tight on the shaft, is it suposed to be torqued into place at an angle in the flange?

 

I have never installed one, I'm surprised no one else has chimed in. I'm almost positive that I read that on one of the install instructions for one of the brands

 

Just install all components & mounting hardware of the SSSSS finger-tight before checking steering travel and then torque everything down.

The bearings are designed with a floating race - that's the angle you see.

 

I had put the DSS on my 2nd generation, and it was off by about 3/8". I had to modify it for everything to line up. No one could tell me why from the supplier to people here on DTR The truck had never been in an accident either
