Help My Turbo Whistle

I took the silencer ring out of my turbo and removed alll the crap out of the intake tube. My truck still doesn't whistle like I want it to. I want this turbo to SCREAM! Does anyone know what else would help?

Your going to have to go to an aftermarket setup. I did exactly as you did, remove the ring and the baffles from the OEM pipe and it still wasn't that loud.

I put the AFE Stage ll airbox on w/ their torque tube and it changed the whistle noise 10x fold. I get the weirdest looks from people when I pass them. lol I been told it sounds like a jet flying by, some think I have a severe exhaust leak. At 35psi it's screaming, sounds mean.

I personally like to hear it from the exhaust pipe and not airbox area. I would have to punch my exhaust out I guess.

Put on a AFE-II, get a 5" exh. & a bigger turbo. That will make it scream! Trust me.

The afe has been known for a long time as the monster whistler, but its pricey.

Look up the ****** Whistler, its a homemade intake (well descripted) that is similar but quite abit cheaper.

Pull the silencer ring and put in the AEM Brute Force intake or the boost tube intake with a BHAF.

I did the AEM on my '03 and she would sing throughout the RPM range up to about 2300.

I just ordered the AEM Work Horse for mine. I'm excited to get it! Been needing help in that department lol. Think I made a good choice on that size and brand, we shall see though! I love the whistle, that's why I took my dump off and only a muffler. Sound comes out of the exhaust pretty well, would love more lol, but who wouldn't!

I'm very pleased with my afe, soundwise but I don't get worked up about it. The new turbo sure does sound nice. At idle I can hear it in my exhaust too. I think my SS manifold has something to do with that maybe.
