Don't feel wrong jilbert, I was told by others the ofe would be sufficient, and that ppl have seen 600+hp on them for years. I'm just worried about its durability. The FE is there for a reason. I don't plan on popping the clutch or anything, not ultra severe use, will tow and play around, i just need it to hold everything I throw at it.

Some opinions on some with ofe and fe clutches? I know the fe is grabby, but is it better to have for my application?

Will you be towing? At all?

If so, then get an OFE or DD.

If you're just goofing off, then get a FE.

I have had 2 bad experiences with con fe's. On the first time, a piece of ferramic lining flaked off and made a hot spot on the flywheel. It did it at less than 400 mi. on the clutch. Got a new one (no questions asked, by the way) and ended up welding that one to the flywheel in about 4k miles (that was my fault ) Anyway, I have had a full ceramic single for over 1 year now and it works good for a lot of stuff. You cant do boosted launches at all without it slipping it the gear you launch in.

Here is a pic of my flywheel from the lining flaking. Supposedly the lining is a material that is pressed at over 100 tons and could flake easily. I was careful installing it, so I know I didnt drop it. It was in the middle anyway. Go double disk and ceramic, then there will be no doubt at all.

What prices are we looking at for a DD ceramic? I have no problem going with either, I just want it to fit my driving habits. I don't wanna be miserable driving the truck I'm about to drop a whole bunch of $$$$ into. Sorry for still qestioning it, I have few opinions to follow by.

Call 1-800-988-4345 and ask to talk to Pete at Southbend. That man has been there and done that. His opinion is worth its weight in gold, IMO

I just wish he would make a McLeod style clutch with the 3 fingers. Haisley is the only one I have seen so far in the Street Master clutch. They shift like a single disk clutch.
