Help me decide what I need for Tranny parts

I am leaning toward goerend, Someday I'm hoping I will be at 600-650HP,I kinda want to build it and forget it. I got $5000,is that enought for TC,VB,Billet Input/Output and the other stuff. How does a aftermarket tranny work, do they send me a reman tranny with upgraded parts or do I send them my old tranny and they upgrade the parts?.

Thanks

Always a day late, and a dollar short.

$5000 is plenty for one. From what I read, Goerend is the go to guy. They can send you one, but they will charge you for the core until they receive your old one. That way you can still drive your truck, unless the tranny is already burnt up.

Don't know how Dave works. DTT rebuilds your at their installers locations!
$5,000 grand US, with them doing the work, should cover most except Billet shafts..... and frt if you send yours in. Did mine in 03 and it was a bit less, but I don't think prices have jumped too much??

Goerends has a full price list of what all parts cost. Just make a list of parts cost for what you want and call a Goerend certified dealer for installation cost. I think 5,000 will get you the V/B, T/C, Input and Flex + installation cost. Not sure if that will be enough for the rest of the billet goodies.

Goerend has no installers up here so I think I will do the install myself or a local shop

Check with Dave first for possible warranty issues if your installing yourself. Also I would go ahead with a complete clutch rebuild and seal rebuild if doing yourself.

It helps with the "stutter shifting" after you replace the V/B. Some trucks do it some dont.

I got a goerends, $6600 shipped got my everything except a billet intermediate shaft. Shift enhanser is nice, can set it to daily, tow, or race which will hold the gears a little longer. I love my goerend, Dave is a great guy and the customer service is top notch. I broke the intermediate shaft, he over nighted me a new one and paid a local shop to install it. 100k mile waranty is a nice thing especially when the man stands behind it like Dave does.
