Help With Lift!! I'm Confrused!
I really like these wheels here, but they are 4.5" BS.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/17-in...mZ180212704784
I want to run these and some 35-12-50/17's BFG MT's. Of course I am American and want to get out as cheap as possible. I am pretty sure that a leveling kit will not allow it. Will a 4" kit get it? Probably gonna go with a Superlift kit w/bilsteins (reg. shocks, not w/reservoirs) if I have to lift it.
Where is the cheapest place to get Superlift stuff if that is what I have to do??
If you guys have any better ideas on wheels let me know. I would really like to get 35's under it with just a level kit, but DO NOT WANT H2's or stock crap.

I installed the carli 3" lift in mine.carli says only use one of the rear spacers, but I used all 3.You will definately need a longer trac bar to center your front axle as it will get pushed off center from the lift.I used solidsteels trac bar and a solidsteel steering box stabilizer to take the stress of the bigger wheels off my steering box.Everything works great together.Steering is tight,no wandering even at highway speeds.I am running 295/70/17 toyo m/t on 17" xd series black spys.Backspacing on these rims is 4.5".Pretty close to stock which is 6".They dont really stick out far at all.Truck looks real aggressive, yet still is functionable for long distance hauls. I would definately recommend this system.

With 35x12.50's you MAY be able to clear that rim/tire setup with a 4" lift. I had those same wheels on 325/65/18 Terra Grapplers and needed 5" to clear. The Nitto's are a bit wider than the BFG's though.
And you are correct, the 1-1.5" makes a HUGE difference.

Those wheels look great! As far as fitment with a 35" tire, you will probably need the 4" lift kit, due to the back spacing. 4.5" BS is not a bad thing, it just makes the wheels "hang out" a little more.
I just swapped my 22x11 M26 wheels to a set of 22x14 black XD diesels, and both have 4.5" BS.
Everybody has their own style.

the difference between 4.5" and 5" of b/s is HUGE! couldn't clear 35" toyo m/t's with my lift and 4.53" b/s, but they cleared easily with 5" b/s. if you go ahead and do the lift, just be aware you still might not be able to run that set-up.

I too looked at Moto Metals for a long time, liked the look, but in the end the 4.5" BS is kinda the kiss of death on these trucks. It causes rub issues (with 35" tires, this should be totally non-existant on these trucks) and IMHO it makes the wheel stick out too far from the body. I would definantly stick with at LEAST the 5" BS number (on a 9" or narrower wheel).

thanks for all the replies....and by all means KEEP it coming. I am not stuck on those wheels, but the price is right for sure. I am pretty stuck on the 35's in either Cooper STT's or BFG MT's. I think 6" lift kit would be too much for the 35's.
You guys have any other wheel choices that are the same "style" as those Moto Metals? I have a silver truck so the mostly black with chrome is what I am looking for.
Let me throw this out there too.....say I got those wheels and tires and a 4" lift kit would not clear.....could I use say a leveling kit in the front and then get a slightly taller block in the back??

951's
mine has a 6" bds and bfg 35's and i beat the hel out of it. but the tires do look to small they never rubbed but when turning they are about 1 1/2 inches of clerance, after i put my ranch hand on and beat the lift more it started to sag and i added a 2" spacer, and i still can't run 37's. i love the wheels though, easy to clean and they always look good, but the back spacing sucks.

while there is always a chance of fitting, most people rub with that set-up. craig's list, e-bay, classifieds, etc. are full of wheels with 4.5" b/s for a reason.
