Help on Injector Selection

OK, either going to get a set of Injectors from Don or a new LWRC M6 (AR-15)...havent decided yet...

Assuming injectors, i've already desided i'm going with Don based upon his rep and participation here on DTR...

See signiture for current mods....don't plan on doing much else after injectors...maybe an MP8 and if needed Stage 3 CP3 and / or Twins...but i'd like to skip the last two if not needed.

Why i want injectors:
1. I like to run pressure 3 on Smarty TnT or Beta 4.4 - both have reasonably high rp during cruise...like the fact Donn inpsects the injectors as part of the process, and want to ensure the injectors last going forward
2. Touch more power....i'm shooting for a reasonably reliable 500-550hp...
3. Spool is great on the 62...but a little more wouldnt hurt...e.g. if i can get it to wicked fast, let's do it.

I'm concerned about more smoke....i drive a lot of city / traffic....

So after that long winded story...what size injectors? I'm thinking 1.6's...i think those are around 60-70hp....thoughts appreciated.

I would think a flux 1 or 2 would be fine but with the 2 you might start loosing a little pressure.

Yeah, that's just it, whilei 'm not opposed to more power...i dont want to be forced into spending another $7k on a full pump and twins...hoping to size the stix just right to work with the arson 3 and 62 turbo... guessing the F1 40hp sticks is the safe approach, but i like the idea of a touch more hp for the expense of the injectors....maybe split the diff with 1.5's?

I like the Colt. LOL LWRC is good too though. I have a colt M4, but it has the 16" not the 14.5". I do have a nice can ordered for it though. I got a few rounds through it this weekend at the AR15 get together.

Seems to me the prices for any AR variant is crazy high at the moment. I cant justify it to buy one right now. I paid 700 for my first one in 1993 and every one since then has gone up and up. The 1994 prices were in the 2500 range. Dang. I paid 120 bucks per 1000 SS109 rounds, now it is 400 to 800. WTH?

Injectors are a better deal at the moment. LOL Thats my opinion. I dont think the AR's will go away or even be banned in the next decade. I hope I am wrong.

What year is the truck/engine? Note: I may not be back on here in the next few hours. I have to get some things done before 6 PM.

- Lots of Colt Fans for sure, i just like the Cold Forged Barrel of the LWRC...that and the fact a fully loaded one is still cheaper than the colt...and Scottsdale Gun Club has them in stock...

I do have a nice can ordered for it though.
- that's awesome....i'd love one, but need to get all the other stuff first....just ordered an EoTech 553 for free from american express.com....e.g. corporate card points...that was cool...after this trip to europe (sunday)...i'll have enough points for the EoTech 3x mag as well....so no rifle yet, but will have $1k worth of optics for it..at no charge....to bad they didnt have trijicon...

- Story of my life.....diesel was also cheaper than gasoline when i bought my first diesel in 2005...2 months later (and ever sinse) that hasnt been the case!

- One reason i might get the AR...just in case....but your right....the injectors are 50% the price and i'd use them daily.

What year is the truck/engine?

- 06 5.9l with DTT Auto, HTT 62/65/13ss, Arson 3 CP3 Mod, AD150...

Good post

Curious if there is much of fuel mileage between the Flux 1s and Flux 1.8s or anywere inbetween.

I would like to run something in that range in my 03 and would like to get the same mods or hp as jgiachino eventually.

I had the Mach 1.6s in my 01 HO and thought they worked great. Gained a solid 1-1.5 mpg. Ran a little toasty towing with them, the Juice and stock turbo but controllable. Wondering if I can expect the same from the Flux injectors.
