I've heard a couple of good ones as well. I was filling up at a Shell station last winter, a 12v pulled next to me and we started chatting. We got into programmers and such and he proceded to tell me about his chipped 12v. I kindly told him good day after I was filling up and took off. I laughed all the way to the bank on that one

Just recently I was messing with a guy on the freeway, we both rolled into the next town and at a stop light I asked the guy about his truck. I could clearly see his edge box on his A-Pillar. I asked what year truck he had, he replied it was a 07. But the truck was clearly a 04.5-05. He then proceded to tell me it was all stock, when I see the edge box and the truck was running a straight pipe.

Now that I think about it maybe I know why the guy lied to me. He asked me first if I was running an aftermarket turbo. I replied no, just an intake and a missing silincer ring. He gave me a baffled look.

This story byfar takes the cake. I was headed down to the Twin Cities and stopped to fill up. As I was filling a older gentleman in a 04-05 DMax pulled beside me. He started filling up aswell and we started chatting about mileage. By this time his tank must of been darn near full. He was claiming he got 24mpg on the highway and was going on and on. Next thing you know his tank was full and fuel was just a pourin' out of this tank. He must of lost a good 3 gallons on the floor before he could grab the handle and stop it. That made my day right there.

I got 25mpg(hand calc), No joke, the other day on a straight highway trip. Of course, the 40's keep the RPMs less than 1900 at 70mph's and there arent any hills. As long as I don't stop, I do pretty good. Put a few redlights in the way and that goes out the window.

The only way to shut these guys up is to take them for a drive...tell them you want to learn their secret and suggest they go with you to the service station....and you'll both fill up.....then you both go for a drive for a couple of hours....and then you both fill up together.

The absolute best distance I got out of my D'maxes was 1080km on a 125L fillup...bone dry

My best so far with my regular cab just over 1100km on 114L.

I've given up on the hand calculation ....it means nothing to me....I want to know what I can get out of a tank...My worst so far on the regular cab was 780km on 109L...Smarty 4.4, TST twins 3/1....lots of distance....in a short time. ks

I dunno if I read something wrong but the kid is right in a way that your truck does not have glow plugs, we have heater grids the preheat the air going into the engine instead of glow plugs...correct me if i'm wrong but...

about 1.5 years ago i had some speakers and a deck installed in my truck @ bestbuy (mistake). went to pick up the truck and noticed a slight buzz/hiss sound from the speakers, the installer & install manager told me it might be because my batteries were badly corroded - thought it sounded a little fishy but said ok (i didn't know any better @ the time). the manager then proceeded to tell me that faulty spark plug wires can also cause this problem and that may be the issue @ hand. i said, "oh really? ok, maybe i'll go pick up some new diesel spark plug wires and try that." i then took my keys and drove far far away!
