headstud price and help
I need a price on a set of 12 mm headstuds for a 2004.5 cummins. I was told when I install them run the stud down to the block and then back them off a 1/4 inch ?? Can somebody explain to me why??
I need a price on new or a good used set if anyone knows of a set for sale!?

i have been looking too, they are available from summit and bd diesel-arp p/n 247-4202. I have asked lary if we can get them through the DTR store, but still looking for that answer.
i have not heard of backing out 1/4 inch. that will not work. the block holes need to be bottom tapped to give MORE thread engagement, not less.
