Head stud installation help...

I just need a little help, I have read alot about the head stud installation but I am confused about a couple things. I am not taking head off just want to do the one bolt at a time thing. Studs are used 425s.
Do I start with the bolt that is the first one listed in the service manual, and torque it through each step (50lbs ft, 75lbs, 90lbsft then to ARPs 125 lbsft) before moving on to the next head bolt or do I just torque to step one (50lbs ft) leave it at that and move onto the next head bolt, then go back through them all for the next torque sequence (75lbsft 90lbsft then 125lbsft)steps once all the studs are in?
Thanks in advance

I asked the same question when I did mine and got 4 different answers. I did mine in the sequence the manual shows. Remove one bolt at a time and install the stud, torque to 125. I did not see any sense in doing any steps since you are only working on one stud at a time. I did my retorques the same way. If I had pulled the head then do it in steps. No problems here.

The stepped torque is for correct compression of the head gasket. Yours is already compressed so you can go right to the final torque. That said I would come back after the second stud is changed and then recheck torque on the first. Then when you do the 3rd , recheck the second and so on until you are done.
