Head Gasket went

I'm not trying to start a debate or anything...just curious. I emailed Opie a week ago or so and asked for details of his kit but haven't received a response yet.

The flow gets blocked off there by a "steam bubble". Since coolant is allowed a second exit from the head right where the problem is...it increases flow by the above said hot spot.

What Hintz said, look under the sponsor section and click on Inteligent Engineering, there is a thread there with some good pics and info.

The BOE design incorporates a riser that gives steam a place to collect in away from the head even when it's "off", doubles the size of the coolant return circuit that flows through the hot side of cylinders #5 & 6 before either purge stage cycles, and of course doubles the coolant volume flowing around #5 & 6 when the setpoint limits of either stage are met.
Also, I don't think you'll need O-rings with your HP goal... but they can't hurt, either. (except your wallet! )
