The first time I blew the headgasket, it blew straight out the front of #1.
I had another guy set the head on and torque the studs down. Apperently he didn't do a very good job of cleaning up before he put it on because 700 miles later I blew it again between #4 and #5. On stock power......
This time it cut grooves in the head. I bought a new head and decided to tackle it. It's a SIMPLE job. It's just time consuming.... Hopefully it will hold. I don't want to go to leaky o-rings....

Hmmmm, Tick Tick Tick, Dropped valve seat, bent valve, Head gasket, If you've grooved the head then it will have to be planed....you can deck the block with an orbital sander in 4 to 8 hours. Get a head gasket that is 5 layers of steel. Do you have ARP head studs? You can do it all yourself....get the service manual online at the Hemiownersforum.com I think.
Oh yeah, Welcome to Club. You have joined an elite group of misfortunates who are willing to go that one step too far. ks

Thanks Guys. I do have ARP studs already. I was going to pull it apart today, however disgust and procrastination grabbed my attention...
