HBS kit not alinging??

I just got my truck back Friday from 4 wheel parts. I have previously installed a 2" HBS kit. Now I have installed the bilstien 5100's, 2 longer in the front, BFG 35x12.5's, and H2 wheels. I had 4wheel parts align my truck while it was there. They asked if I new that it pulls to the right. I said yes a bit, but Its worse now that they aligned it. My steering wheel also vibrates a bit more and feels wobbly, but it could be that they are just Mud terrains? Anyway, they claimed that they couldnt properly align my truck with the HBS kit, and that it was making my truck really dangerous, and prone to Death wobble. He insisted that I should think about getting a procomp 3in front and 1 inch rear for like $947 or the 5" for $1300. Im thinking about it now since my truck drives funny now. I also had them check my steering componets and he said that both sides lower control arms had play in them and I should replace them soon. He also went on to tell me that the combo of my H2's (with less backspacing, and he claimed the woud tuck in tighter in my wheel well and not stick out as much as my stock ones), and the HBS kit.

...So now im kinda stuck and disappointed cause my trucks alignment doesnt feel right and it pulls to the right, the steering wheel wobbles more, but the shock do work a bit better. What do you guy's think I should do though???

....Also, do the H2 wheels stick out further than the stock wheels, or tuck in more? Which has less back spacing stock or H2's?

I believe the H2 rims stick out further than stock. Right there you've got mechanical leverage working against your suspension components. Now add in the mix some 2" leveling spacers and some worn components and larger rubber..... And you get what you got, unfortunately...

Rotate the tires front to rear...you may have a tire that pulls. I have had that happen once in 10 years...but it can happen. The rims or the level kit should not keep an alignment shop (a good one who knows what they are doing) from making you truck drive straight. This is a result of inexperience.

He obviously does not know what he is talking about sice he got his "back spacing" comment wrong...way wrong.

You ball joints, track bar bushings, etc could all be worn and the caster way off causing the death wobble. It is not the tires/lift/wheels.

Dead sure.

Take it to a real alignment shop. I had no problems aligning with the 4.5" kit I originally put on my truck. Even with the bushings and ball joints shot, I could get it aligned.

Sounds to me like someone wants to sell you a Pro Comp kit. I refuse to do business with 4WPW anymore, they've screwed too many people.

I'd stay away from the Pro Comp kit too.....there are much better ways to do the same thing for the same or less money.

Exactly. 4WP is a bunch of crooks who shouldnt be allowed to do business anymore. The fact that he told you he couldnt align yours and you should buy his shouldve been the first clue. Take it to a real alignment shop and there should be no issues.

Yet another vote to steer clear of 4 Wheel Parts. What limited experience I had with them was not that great. There are better, cheaper shops out there.

Take it to an alignment shop and tell them to pay particular attention to the caster. Ask them to set it to the upper end of the specs. Its not the lift itself. There are just too many people running lifts and not having a problem for the spacers to be the cause.

As far as the vibration goes, some will be induced by the mudders, hence the reason I no longer want them! Another cause can be a poorly balanced tire. The larger mudders take a little more effort to get balanced well.

H2 rims: Same backspacing, 1/2" wider wheel.

I'm pretty sure that is what the H2 wheels are. You can kick me if I'm wrong. And 3" spacers, H2 Wheels and 37" Mt's ride great with the steering wheel spot-on. He is cheatin' you.

DO NOT think about it. Hes just trying to get you to spend your money, and fill up his pockets with your cash. Go somewhere else to get the tires aligned, you should be fine at any place that does tires.

1/2" wider wheel correct but backspacing is 5.5" where stock is 6".

How many miles on your 2004 truck? I mean, c'mon already needs replacement of tie rods and controls arms.....etc. Doesnt make sense, thats why im just going to stick with my Bilstein 5100's and leave everything the way it is suspension wise

I'm going to do a 180 from Viking. I'm going to level the truck (new springs, towers and King shocks are on the way) and and replace worn out parts as needed with superior aftermarket units. It's going to cost a bit more but will perform much better.

Exactly. When it goes, upgrade. When mines worn out ill be replacing everything with Don's trackbar and HD steering.

I have 100k on my "non" stock suspension and have not had a single U-joint or balljoint issue. Food for thought...skeptic.

I have 237K on my OEM front unit bearings, the last 187K with at least +4" ride height and 37's.

Some folks just get lucky, others don't.
