6.0L is a nice motor, the trans is a piece of garbage. international makes good motors, its Ford's programming that messes it up.

Lets just all agree duramax is junk.

Joeservo, I can't agree D-Max is junk. I would take a D-Max 10 to 1 over a 6.0. I think these Ford people are not going to be happy when they try to sell these 6.0 as a used diesel I think they will have to give them away. You'll get more for a Ford V10 than you will for a used 6.0. I do agree that International makes a good engine I just think Ford's requirements caused International to skemp on the manufactoring of these motors and then Ford screwed up the fuel system which everyone knows is the heart of a diesel.

Yes I have. I bought my sister's 94 Escort wagon to drive to work, which is about 20 miles. I love my Ram, but the price of diesel was realy hurting me, so she had just bought a new BMW wagon and I ask her about selling me the old wagon. Her husband said they would sell it to me for $500. I think it was a good deal. It has 154000 miles on it and has the 1.9 Mazda engine and a 5 speed trany. I filled up last night and got 33 mpg. The ram was getting 17 mpg. I bought the Ram to pull my 33 ft. travel trailer and it does a wonderful job doing that, it is just the $80 per tank fillups that were getting to me. I have already put 12000 miles on the Ram sence June so I am reducing the miles that are being put on th Ram while saving on gas. I am not a Ford fan, but I am a fan of saving money.

Funny you should mention it, I showed up for work today and what is sitting there? A new F-350 crew w/6.0l, seems alot better than the 04 Chevy I had but it was a 6l gasser time will tell.

I drove a ford E-250 work van for my company .That carried on average about 1500 lbs every day. When I turned it in the van had 321k miles on the 4.6 gasser with not one problem with the engine or transmission and still ran good. The only repair to the van ,other than routine maintentance was the replacement of a rear axle. How many dodge auto trannies will live that long??

I drive a dodge ctd,and ford is having a huge problem right now with the 6.0,and its fun to harass them, but they dominate the truck market and have for 20 years and probably will for 20 more. They probably sell more diesels than all the others combined.

Hell, how many ford trannies will live that long? Very few. In fact, very few of any type of transmission installed in pickup trucks will live that long.
